Gluten Free Pasta Recipe

When our customers learn they can’t eat gluten, one of the foods they are most upset to miss out on is pasta. We’re happy to advise no-one needs to miss out. Simply follow our gluten free pasta recipe to make your own yummy pasta that’s wheat and nut free. Ravioli, fettucini, tagliatelle can all be made and we promise you’ll love it.

Ingredients

  • 400g (2½ cups) pastry flour mix:
  • 200ml water
  • 1 egg
  • Extra rice flour for dusting

Method

  1. Toss your gluten-free pastry flour into a stand mixer bowl. Add water and crack in that egg.
  2. Using a paddle, let the mixer whirl away for 2.5 minutes on medium speed, creating a dough that’s bound for greatness.
  3. Divide your dough into smaller portions. Whether you fancy fettuccine, ravioli, or lasagna sheets, the pasta playground is yours to explore.
  4. Roll it out by hand, or let a pasta roller do the heavy lifting.

Gluten Free Ravioli

Sprinkle your workbench with flour and roll out the dough to about 5mm. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out circles. Brush each circle with a touch of egg or water, then nestle in your favourite filling like a little surprise. Fold them into half-moons, sealing in all that deliciousness with a loving press of your fingertips.

Now, let’s bring the excitement to a boiling point! In a pot big enough for all the pasta (work on a 1:10 ratio), add a pinch of salt to the water. When it’s bubbling with anticipation, gently drop in your pasta. Keep watch for those ravioli—they’ll let you know it’s time to celebrate when they dance to the top of the pot!
