My name is Gracie and last year I made it to top 20 in the Junior Masterchef competition. I am also a coeliac.
My brother and I found out we were coeliacs in 2009, I was in grade five. At the time I was upset, thinking I would never be able to eat like a normal person again, but this wasn’t the case. My love of cooking still continued with some minor adjustments, and I still kept baking and cooking with my family.
My love of cooking comes from my mum and gran. I can remember baking cupcakes and icing them when I was very little.
When I was diagnosed as a coeliac it took my family and I a little while to work out how to cook without gluten. We had all sorts of problems from biscuits crumbling very easily to cakes and slices that were dry, didn’t rise and didn’t taste very good..

My mum originally found the Well & Good Marble cake in a local supermarket. Mum bought my brother and I the Marble Cake Mix and we loved the taste, and mum was happy with the price. Since then we have found lots of other great Well & Good products that help us get tasty food with beautiful cakes, breads, muffins and slice’s coming out of our oven every time!
My favourite Well and Good products are the Marble Cake with pink icing, Self Raising Flour for creating lots of my own recipes and the Muffin Mix to name a few.
I hope my experience in Junior Masterchef, and sharing some of my family recipes with Well & Good over the next year, will show other kids who are coeliacs or have allergies not to let this stop your passion for cooking.
With a little planning and the right products we can all enjoy cooking and eating great tasty gluten free food!
